Our story
We make t-shirts.
The rest is
between you
and your mirror.
11:47 PM
A message arrives at 11:47 pm.
You read it. You know exactly what you would say. You put the phone face down and go back to watching the ceiling fan.
You are not being rude. You are being yourself. There is no word for this, and you were never going to explain it anyway.
The quiet ones
Some people narrate their lives. They announce their moods, their plans and their five-year goals.
Then there are the rest of us. We think about it at 3 am. See: The Overthinker We are at work, technically. See: Not Responding We would leave tomorrow, eventually. See: One Way We hold opinions about our city's street food that could end friendships. We say almost none of it out loud.
For years our clothes said none of it either. T-shirts told us to hustle. They carried someone else's cartoon, someone else's logo, someone else's joke.
None of them sounded like the group chat.
Before signatures, there were seals
Long before anyone in this country signed a name, they sealed it.
A merchant pressed his seal into wet clay, and a stranger at a faraway port knew whose goods these were. A king pressed his into wax, and a letter became a promise. The seal did all the talking. It said: this is mine, this is true, and I stand behind it. Then it said nothing more.
The word for that seal is mudra. मुद्रा.
We took the word because we recognised the behaviour. One mark, pressed once, meaning everything. It is exactly how the quiet ones have always spoken.
So we made you one
Mudra is a seal for people who would rather be understood than explain themselves.
You put it on in the morning without a speech. You wear it to a chai stall, a lecture, a Friday at the office.
Somewhere in the room, a stranger notices. Most people walk on. They were always going to.
One of them looks twice and says "same."
You did not introduce yourself. You did not explain. You were recognised anyway, by exactly the right person.
That is the entire job of what we make.
Old word.
New light.
Our seal carries an old script in a very new blue. That is where we stand: one foot in where we are from, the other in when we are living.
We are from here, completely. From the cities that raised us, the languages we switch between mid-sentence, and the families who forward us good-morning messages at 6 am.
And we make for anywhere. Made in India, and held to the standard of the best in the world, because the people who wear our seal deserve nothing less.
Our pride is the quiet kind. It does not wave anything. It does the work properly, and it expects to be taken seriously in DelhiSame., in DubaiSame., and in a queue at HeathrowSame. where someone behind you says "same."
What we believe
- 01
Say less. Mean it.
A seal never needed a paragraph.
- 02
Moments over slogans.
We care about what you do, never about what you should do.
- 03
The joke is the handshake.
If they get it, they are your people.
- 04
Rooted here. Measured against anywhere.
Indian in what we notice, world-class in what we expect of ourselves.
- 05
A few at a time.
We would rather be your favourite than everyone's option.
- 06
A seal is a promise.
We put our name on it, so we stand behind it.
Our mission
To make t-shirts that speak for the quiet ones, made in India to a standard the world respects.
Our vision
A homegrown seal the world recognises, and a country where you can spot your people from across the room.
